Arthur Bailey has a rigorous scientific background, but has always had a love of nature and felt particularly drawn towards flowers. He has been involved in healing and meditation for most of his life and it was from that background that the essences were developed. Mind and body inter-react with each other. When the mind is not at ease, neither is the body. It is this unease of the mind that is often the origin of our illnesses. Out of date attitudes and conditionings can disempower us and make us very unhappy. They stand in the way of positive personal change. The Bailey Essences act as catalysts for this needed change. They are concerned with helping us to come up to date. They are not intended to directly treat or eradicate any medically identifiable condition. The Bailey Essences are compatible with and complementary to many other flower essences. They are gentle in their action, non-addictive and totally non-toxic. They can be safely used on small children. All the essences are hand-made using spring water and alcohol as a base. We feel very strongly that the quality of all essences of homoeopathic concentration are greatly influenced by the care taken in their preparation. In the production of the Bailey essences it is our aim to honour the inherent healing potential of the flowers to the greatest possible degree.

It is for sudden, abrupt and irrevocable changes in life caused by personal traumas such as bereavement or divorce, or major natural disasters such as earthquakes, when the old has to die and be replaced by something new. The properties of the Conifer Mazegill essence mirror those of the fungus itself, converting the dead wood of the past into new growth of a different form. It is deeper-acting than the Shock & Trauma composite. At such traumatic times the best form of treatment would be to start taking the Grief composite and Shock & Trauma as well as Conifer Mazegill. After the initial sting has been taken out of the situation, Conifer Mazegill should then be taken on a continuing basis, perhaps for several months. This will help to ensure that the energies of positive change are being continually activated and that we do not become trapped by old energies and memories.
